Canva (Free): How to Create a Brand Folder

While I love all free things, Canva’s free version is extra. (Like extra fabulous.) Most of my clients either aren’t ready for or flat don’t need Canva’s pro version, so I’ve come up with a few workarounds - like how to create a folder to collect your most important brand creations in one place.

Why do you need a brand folder anyway? Well that’s a long story, which is mostly about branding. The short answer is you should think of your brand folder as a commitment to be consistent with your digital image. Consistency is the currency of trust in a lot of ways on the web.

This is an article about how to get stuff done, so I’ll save the rest of the brand soapbox talk for later.

BUT what I will tell you now is that I recommend you put the following (and more) in this folder:

  • Browser icon or favicon

  • Social media templates

  • Signature card

  • Email headers

  • Color swatches

  • Font samples

  • Anything else you plan to use over and over and need a quick reference for!
